Obedience Trials

We hold an annual Rally and Obedience Trial in the spring - check back for information about our 2018 Trial.

Canine Good Citizen Tests

This is an AKC program that tests the good manners of a dog.  It is open to all dogs age 6 months and older, whether purebred or not.  Ten different tests evaluate how the dog behaves in common situations - walking on a loose leash, behavior around other people and dogs, and how he or she reacts to distractions.

Those who pass receive a form from the evaluator, which you can send to the AKC for a certificate, suitable for framing.  AKC also has 'CGC' patches available for purchase.  Passing a CGC test is often a requirement if you're interested in having your dog become a therapy dog.

We usually have Canine Good Citizen tests once a year, either in the spring or the fall.  Pre-registration is strongly suggested, and there is a nominal fee.

One of our obedience classes is specially geared to the requirements of the Canine Good Citizen test.  Please contact us for information on when our next class will be starting.
